Comments about Factory Air Air Conditioning Clutch:
i ended up having to set the air gap twice as the clutch wasn't tight against the snap-ring the first time and must have moved toward the hub slightly once it got hot. no big deal, just annoying to have go borrow the hub holding tool again to pull the hub off and add/change shims. other than that, good price, easy fix, works great.

Comments about Factory Air Air Conditioning Clutch:
if you need this product, the bearing on the old clutch most likely has wear and or damage. If the old one has become hot you will need a puller to get it off the compressor shaft. You will also probably need the puller to remove the old magnetic coil. The directions say to simply press the new coil and pulley onto thier respective locations, but you will need to TAP them with a plasic coated hammer. ***IMPORTANT*** Make sure that the beveled side of the replacement snap ring is facing away from the compressor. This is the only direction that it will seat correctly. You will need a feeler guage to set the gap between the clutch plate and the pulley. You may have some difficulty holding the clutch plate stationary in order to torque the retaining bolt. I put a flat head screwdriver against one of the rivets. Once installed this part was quieter than the old one ever was. It engages and disengages very smoothly without much noise at all.

Comments about Factory Air Air Conditioning Clutch:
Did exactly what it was supposed to do. Mechanics tried to tell me I needed to change my compressor, evaporator and another component. Then recharge the system with Freon. NOOOO. The clutch was the only bad component. Why would I need to change everything. Changed myself and saved HUNDREDS. Very easy too. They probably would have did what I did and charged me for everything.

Very happy that it comes as a kit and includes clutch and field coil. One thing to note is that a puller is required to do this right. I would have paid a fee to rent the tool. The store I went to had a kit but it was for the wrong type.

Comments about Factory Air Air Conditioning Clutch:
This clutch went on without me having to remove the AC compressor on my Escort. I am a pretty handy DIY kind of person, but this was relatively easy for me to install. Instructinal drawings was not very clear at all though. Paying close attention to the removal of the old one will allow you to reinstall the new clutch easily. And the cost was better that buying a whole new commpressor since only my clutch was bad anyway.

Comments about Factory Air Air Conditioning Clutch:
My A/c Clutch began to go out, it was making a loud scratching noise. Bought this from Advance took around 15 min to install it. Now my a/c is as cold as ice. Very easy to install i didnt need the special tool. I would suggest to try and make as much room around the compressor as you have to bang one of the parts in place but its no big deal.
