Works as expected.
I put these on a 96 Dakota. Monroe is a good brand. The Sensatrac is better, but for everday commuter driving these work great.

I bought these for the front of my 2000 Quad Cab Dakota. I was a little nervous about them as soon as I removed the front shocks. The Mopar shocks were noticably larger in diameter. I installed the shocks anyway and at first they seemed fine. Now it is less than a year later and not even 10,000 miles and they are shot. I just don't see how the factory shocks can last 11 years and the aftermarkets can't even survive one. Very pitiful product. The warranty is limited to only 90 days, so now I have to eat the cost of another set. Do yourselves a favor and buy another brand!

Replaced originals on a 98 Durango with these and the car handles much better and rides much smoother. Great quality at an unbeatable price. True MONROE believer!

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber:
I have a 2004 Dakota 4X4 that a bought a couple of years ago with 90K+ on the odo. I've been picking away at some of the higher maintenance items and shocks were on the list. I purchased these Monroe's a few days ago and replaced what appeared to be the factory units with over 118K on them. Needless to say the old shocks were way tired. After a painless install of these Monroe's I noticed a considerable difference in the ride and handling. This was no surprise given the length of time others were in there and they made for a really nice ride. The price seems very reasonable for the result achieved!

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber:
Do not buy these. They are thinner then the stock factory mopar and as a result are not really heavt enought for this truck. The truck.shakes at 60 mph because thesr are flimsy pieces of junk. Im going to.go with the heavy duty ones. I dont do any towing and i hardly ever have anything in the bed so i figure lightduty would be fine. Do not buy these

What a great deal, replaced all 4 of the shocks on my '98 Durango for about $95 - they were running a 20% off special. Easy to install. Cant say how long they'll last as they've only been on for a few weeks, but so far so good.

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber:
There was a noticeable difference in ride and handling. Had a hard time getting the top nut off of the old shock, but that's normal. I purchased a boot for the top, as these front shocks have bare rods ? Not sure why they do that ? Hopefully I'll get 70,000 miles from these like the factory shocks.

These shocks gave a great ride & handling at first, but have about 10,000 miles and are worn completely out.
