I drive between 15 and 120 miles per day five days a week with more some weekends.
The 70,000 mile brake inspection indicated it was time to replace pads and rotors. After replaceing the pads and rotors on the front of my 06 T & C Chrysler minivan the left front wheel made a grinding noise that sounded like metal to metal contact from worn out pad.
Disassembled, inspected, and resurfaced the pads on both sides with no effect. Just a few weeks before I had installed the same type of wearever silver pads and new rotors on the rear axle of the van with no problems.
Checked for all the obvious things, dragging pads, sticking piston in the caliper, no lube on caliper pins, etc. Did not find any problems. (The OEM pads and rotors were working perfectly, just getting worn.)
Decided to monitor the rotor temperature. During several stop and go trips around town the temperature never got above about 190 degrees F. on the front rotors. Rear rotors were around 140 degrees F. for the same trips. The interesting thing was that the temp was lower by several degrees on the rotor with the most noise/wear. This reinforced my thinking that the pad was too hard and was removing metal from the rotor rather than mostly just generating heat as it is designed to do.
After a couple of discussions with store employees, the store agreed to refund the price of the silver pads. However, I chose to replace the silver with the Thermoquiet, skipping the entire wearever line. The Thermoquiet is more expensive but I have had good luck with these on previous vehicles. (Also minivans) The rotors had to be resurfaced, an added expense to me.
All in all, I will not buy the silver again as they may be OK, but why take the chance? I gave them one star because they are probably better than the backing on the pad, but only just.

Comments about Wearever Silver Brake Pads - Front:
2002 Chrysler T&C LX, disk brakes front and back, replaced just the front. Generous thickness to pads, went on easily, fit just right. Will buy Advance Auto Wearever Silver pads for my next brake job. My rotors felt pretty smooth so I did not replace. The new pads feel great, no pedal vibration, am glad I didn't spend the extra money on rotors. Bought a 3/8" hex socket and used a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter with a 1/2" breakover bar to easily loosen the two hex bolts.

Ordered online, but failed to realize there are two different sets of brake assemblies for the Dodge Caravan. I selected the wrong ones some how. But Advance was great about switching them, I just took them to the store and returned them and got the right ones this time. Good deal.

These pads have the split down the middle for cooler operation. I usually have to cut my own on the cheaper pads.
These are better than advertised.

These pads matched the OEM equipment and went on easily. They provide good stopping, and feel smooth in operation. No grabbing or fade.
Ordered these with a lot of other parts for in-store pickup. They had everything in a box ready for me when I arrived. EXCELLENT service!
I know that if I ever have a return that Advance is easy to work with.
