The Rack and Pinion gear set is a simple mechanism that enables you to efficiently steer your car. You’ll find the pinion gear at the end of the steering shaft. Once the steering wheel turns, this gear spins and moves the rack, which turns the wheels. The shafts on which the rack and pinion are attached meet OEM specifications; premium-quality bearings help to deliver a smoother steering experience. Valve housing has polished micro-finish sleeving for durability. OEM-grade O-rings and seals meet required specifications. Factory computer-tested.

Comments about Fenco Rack and Pinion:

insalled the rack on a hot rod project with brand new lines ,filled the steering pump, all the fluid leaked out over night from a bad seal on the inboard tierod and rack housing. This vehicle never moved one foot.I will try another, and if it leaks I will look for a better quality product.

Comments about Fenco Rack and Pinion:

I also ordered the mounting bushings for this rack and was surprised to find the bushings were included, which made this item much less expensive.

    • Q:

I have a 1989, 3.9l Dodge Dakota. I noticed a possible leak on the passengers right side just at the beginning of the boot were the line connects. When I turn the steering wheel it makes the power steering sound and begins to shake. Would I need to replace the entire Rack and Pinion or would there be another alternative to fixing this problem? Very much appreciated.

        A:

You may have to replace the entire rack. We would really need to be there to see the extent of the leaking and the location.
