Comments about GSP New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:
I bought 2 of these axles for my Cavalier. My son and I installed them in his shop. The passenger side axle was the first and seemed to snap in place OK. The drivers side was just the same. However, about 15 miles of driving and the passenger axle popped out of the transmission case. I had to wait for my son to come with his service truck and work in the mud on the side of the road. When he would snap the axle in place all it would take is a slight pull and it would pop out again. I drove the car home and took the axle back to Advance the next day. When I installed the replacement axle it would snap in place and seem fine. To be sure, I turned the axle 90 degrees and the axle pulled out of the case again. Not wanting to start a search for a new axle somewhere besides Advance, I snapped the axle in place, turned it 90 degrees, lifted up on the axle hub and pushed in on it again, repeating this action at 180' and 270'. After that the axle was locked in place. I've put on over 150 miles since then and don't think it will pop out again. My conclusion is that the snap ring groove is not cut wide enough to allow the snap ring to completely seat without working the axle a full 360'. Since the other auto parts stores have the same price as Advance I assume that they are selling the Chicom goods and would be no better. It seems that the foreign countries start out with quality parts and start making substandard parts as soon as they put the American parts makers out of business. IMHO...

Comments about GSP New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:
absolute [*] junk the grooves on the inside for the lock ring are machined wider than the origional so it does not lock on securely I installed them on both the driver and passenger side of the car and the passenger sided slid off while driving and yes it WAS on all the way when i took the driver side back apart that shaft slid off like nothing as well. I returned them and found better quality parts.
