      I have a SC-1200A Speed Charger. When I connected the input of the charger to a gas generator/output to a deep cycle battery at 12A/Standard the red indicator light displayed OFF. Why? It charged correctly at 8A. The battery is a new Interstate Marine/Deep Cycle type 29M.

If so press the 'Charge Rate' button to select a charge rate and activate charging.
