There is no increase in performance, but the muffler is constructed of good-quality, long-lasting material. I used the muffler on a '95 F-150 V8, and it has a nice, mellow rumble, but it is not loud at all. On the highway, you might even forget that it's installed.

Universal fit doesn't mean it will fit. I'm lucky to have friends that are mechanics. It's about 4" shorter than the original so I needed to add some length to the tailpipe. Not a big deal unless you are in your driveway with your exhaust pulled off and need to make a run to the store for the extra pipe.
It's made well, good flow and looks good (if you happen to be looking).
