is it legal to use without heat shield1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
I do not recommend using a catalytic converter without a heat shield. I have personally seen on several occassions, people who took off the heat shield and it eventually heated up the underside of the vehicle so much that the carpet inside actually started smoldering and caught fire.
