Comments about Spectra Premium Fuel Tank Straps (includes 2 straps):

one of these straps fit fine but the other was too short. both straps were the same length and it fit on the smaller section of the tank fine, but the larger section was about 2 1/2 inches too short. thankfully i am a welder so i modified it to fit by cutting the stud off and adding a longer piece of allthread

          how does strap come off
          tank bracket

          • A:

theres no doubt you have to grind the rivets off flush on the strap side, so if you do grind a little too deep, its only on the piece your replacing anyway. but practice only grinding flush until it seems to disappear. then pry the strap off.you will have to grind again, flush to the bracket, this is where your practicing pays off. use a pin punch to tap the rivets out
