Do I need to remove the springs (using a spring compressor tool) to remove the old strut mount? The rubber of the old mount broke all the way around. The center of the rubber strut mount is still attached to the strut by a bolt in the center but it looks like it might also hold the spring collar in place. I have the strut and the strut mount off the car at this point.
