    Comments about Factory Air Clutch:

GMC Sierra 1500, I installed the clutch with the compressor still mounted to the truck. The hardest part was taking off/and installing the snap rings....because of the location of the compressor....I had to use a mirror to get them off and on. Other than that....it was a smooth operation.

    Comments about Factory Air Clutch:

Went on really quick, came with all new parts needed to reinstall, pulley, bearing installed in pulley, new coil, shims, retainers and bolt...
I just wished the "old one" came off as easy as this went on. the instruction say it can be installed with compressor still in truck, but it was very hard to get all the tools in there on a 2002 chevy silverado 2500hd with a denso compressor sits low on the leftside (looking at truck)under exhaust manifold, so I just removed it from truck, then removed all old parts reinstalled new one put it back in, vac. out all the air put in the oil and filled ac up again. air now is coming out colder then before.

      Comments about Factory Air Clutch:

i need to return for a refund. part didn't even last a day. seems to have a short in the plug. I've never had any problems with any advanced auto parts before, so I'm thinking its just a lemon. how do i get my refund? i purchased it on-line. i don't have a store receipt.

            A:

It might be the problem. Unfortunately we are unable to diagnose what is wrong with your vehicle without being able to be there with your vehicle. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

        • Q:

A/c works fine at initial startup. After about 15 minute drive A/C cuts out. If I get on the gas really quick the A/C starts working again. Is it the A/C clutch? Should I replace the clutch or the whole compressor?

Without being there to see what exactly is wrong, we really can't provide the best advice in your situation. I recommend having a shop look at your vehicle to determine what exactly is wrong and then make your decision from that.

            Clutch failure:
While the engine is running, turn on the A/C system.
Look at the clutch, does it engage? fails to engage might be a bad or worn air gap on the clutch. 2. engages but makes noise when takeing the engine to higher RPM (slippage) that is not normail - more or less, metal too metal clutch breaks loose; the clutch is worn and needs to be replaced. 3.fails to engage and there are no other issue in the system like a (low psi switch active). 4.Check power at coil of the clutch (12v). if power is active-and the clutch will not engage, the coil is bad; replace the clutch.
            Compressor Failure:
leaqkage of oil around compressor output seal; Clutch engaged and at low RPM loud noise. If the compressor fails you have a lot of work ahead of you :)
