Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
The instructions are my biggest complaint. Don't use them. You are much better off buying a detailed shop manual for your vehicle at Advanced. One very important point the supplied instructions neglect to point out is the old round retainer rubber gasket stays in the transmission case when you remove the old transmission filter. This needs to come out! A new retainer gasket is supplied on the new transmission filter and improper seating of the of the new filter will result if the old round gasket is not removed. You will need a hook tool. Plus a simple supplied drain plug on the transmission pan would save a lot of grief.

According to Advance website, this was supposed to be an exact fit. However, The metal inserts in the gasket do not fit over the raised edges on the bolt holes on the AN4X Metric transmission pan. If you used this gasket it will definitely leak. Back to store on this one. Definitely NOT an exact fit for all 97 Ford Taurus GLs

Needed to change the transmission fluids(180K +) the "reusable" gasket was not up to par anymore and this was a perfect replacement. Met all specs and it was a perfect fit.

I picked up this great product up at the local parts shop and it noticed the differnace as soon as I toped off the loss tranny fluid the car shifts better with a quililty proking filter then it did with factory quailty filter. "Note" If you working on a taurus you need 7 qts of oil to replace what you lost.

Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
I took the old cork gasket off, cleaned off the old gasket with a plastic scaper then cleaned both surface with a shop rag. I put this gasket on and torqued it to 12 as the dirs said, put a gallon of trans fluid, and it started leaking like a sieve! I torqued the bolts down more and it continue leaking. I torqued them more and stripped one of the bolt, and it STILL CONTINUE LEAKING. Do yourself a favor and find a cork gasket.
